I don’t know about you but these last 2 years have been a trainwreck. So many parties and celebrations have been missed and I’ve barely seen my friends. It’s been quite the downer. As we begin to step back into our regular routines, there’s no better time to help boost the mood by dressing in bright and bold colours and designs… aka ‘Dopamine Dressing’.
So, what is Dopamine Dressing? Dopamine is a chemical released by the brain that makes you feel good, and the good news is that one of the ways you can help trigger it is by adding some fun bright colours to your wardrobe and your social life. It is a trend that is taking over 2022 so here’s how you can incorporate it into your party life:
Rainbow Party
Take your party guests over the rainbow!! Nothing could be more dopamine-inspired than having a party featuring every colour of the rainbow. If you’re in need of some ideas, get inspired by Mardi Gras rainbow. During the parade, everyone’s happiness is spiking. Mine sure is when surrounded by bright colours and lots of glitter, so naturally, this is the way to dopamine dress for your rainbow party. Grab those blues, hot pinks, yellows, and the brightest decorations you can find that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face and add to your party’s dopamine fix.

80s Theme Party
Brighten anyone’s mood with a totally rad 80s theme party. Why you may ask? Well, what could boost your dopamine better than neon colours and patterns and loud and crazy hairstyles? I mean, the 1980s was all about having a great time with your friends so once you’re dopamine-dressed, be sure to put on all the great 80s dance hits to complement your outfits (check out our ‘3 Rad 80’s Playlists You’ll Play Time After Time’ blog). For some more party inspiration to bring happiness, take your decorations to the next level with UV lights, smoke machines and karaoke.
Animal Party
Although this isn’t an obvious dopamine dressing theme about bright colours, I can guarantee, animals at the party will bring anyone happiness and spike their dopamine. Ask guests to dress in matching outfits as their pets to perfect the Dopamine dressing theme! Encourage your friends to get creative with their matching outfits; superheroes and sidekicks, heroes and villains, celebrities, matching Hawaiian shirts, and more. Let your friends give you four paws up!
