How do you throw a 70s theme party? We certainly have the answer!

Having recently launched a whole new range of 70s costumes and accessories, we are the party experts you can trust to bring the FUN to your next themed get-together. Here are our top 7 ideas for how to throw a 70s theme party:

1. Set the Scene

What's a party without decorations? Luckily the 70s consisted of some classic decor items that not only scream "70s!" but also look super funky and ecclectic together in a room. Here are some must-haves:

Large disco ball OR scatter multiple smaller disco balls

• Shag carpeting or rugs

• Lava lamps or retro lights

• Bold prints, either on cushions or throws

• Print out iconic 70s posters

• Macrame and plants for a hippie vibe

• Hang some records on the wall or from the ceiling

• Vintage lounge chairs

2. Food and Drink

Serve classic 70s snacks, such as fondue, deviled eggs, and Jell-O shots. Offer a variety of drinks, including soda pop, punch, and beer. Better yet, put your fancy cocktail making skills to the test with our blog: 7 Funky Cocktails to Relive the 70s.

3. Curated Music

The 70s was all about disco, soul and good ole rock and roll. Luckily for you, we have done the hard work and created playlists of all the biggest hits of the the 70s:

• 70s Disco Fever Party Playlist

• 70s R&B Soul Party Playlist

• 70s Soft Rock Party Playlist

• 70s Rock Music Party Playlist

Just press play and let the good times roll!

4. Nostalgic Games

Keeping guests entertained is the key to a GREAT party. Either nostalgic games from the 70s or themed games to suit the decade. Here are some favs:

• Twister

• Pin the tail on the donkey

• Charades

• 70s themed trivia

• Best dressed fashion show

• Disco dance-off

• 70s karaoke

• Air guitar contest to 70s rock and roll

• If you can get your hands on a Space Invaders arcade game, you will forever be known as the party-host King/Queen

5. Iconic Fashion

Encourage guests to dress up in 70s-inspired clothing, such as bell-bottom pants, tie-dye shirts, maxi dresses, and platform shoes. Have a costume contest to see who has the best 70s style.

6. Fun Photography

Set up a photo booth with 70s props, such as oversized sunglasses, peace signs, and funky hats. You can make your own backdrop out of a shaggy rug or print out posters, then simply use your phone to take pics. If you want to go all out, you can hire a photo booth!

7. Movie Marathon

Screen a 70s movie or two! Add popcorn, decor and costumes, and you've got yourself an unforgetable movie night. Here are some must-watch 70s classics:
